U.S. Senator Doug Jones is making health care issues a priority and specifically, the opioid crisis.   John Bowman, CEO of Sure Med Compliance was one of the thought leaders invited to join Senator Jones in a roundtable discussion to share his ideas on ways to alleviate the crisis.  Along with representatives of law enforcement, doctors, judges, and pharmacy behavioral health specialists, Bowman shared his vision on ways to end the opioid epidemic through the reeducation of healthcare providers and standardization of internal prescribing protocols.

Jones was the co-sponsor of the Opioid Crisis Response Act of 2018, which would provide resources to several federal agencies to treat opioid addiction and help recovering addicts re-enter the workforce.

We have a problem that stems from an abundant supply of legal drugs. That presents challenges for everyone, and it goes to the heart. It goes everywhere. This is not an urban problem. This is not a rural problem. It is a nationwide problem, and it requires a coordinated effort like this.
