John Bowman, Chief Executive Officer

John Bowman is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Sure Med Compliance. He has spent nearly two decades in the healthcare industry, most notably in marketing and sales roles. Bowman has been a cofounder of several other startups in the healthcare and education space and is considered a national key opinion leader in matters of liability and medicolegal risk in pain management settings. John is a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard and a graduate of the University of South Florida.

Dr. Abraham Hartzema

Dr. Abraham Hartzema, Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Abraham G. Hartzema is a professor and Eminent Scholar Emeritus at the University of Florida in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes & Policy. He occupied the Perry A. Foote Chair in Health Outcomes Research, and was a professor in Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the College of Public Health and the College of Medicine. In the year 2007, he was awarded the University of Florida Foundation Research award. Dr. Hartzema has been widely published on various aspects of prescription drug safety, including several books on Pharmacoepidemiology.

Dr. David Herrick

Dr. David Herrick, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Herrick is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in Pain Management, 150th president of the Medical Association of Alabama, former member of the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners, owner of Center for Pain, Montgomery, and Chief Medical Officer, Sure Med Compliance.

Richa Rai

Richa Rai, Chief Technology Officer

Richa Rai is an engineering manager with 20 years of experience in SaaS, Healthcare, and Data Analytics at both established companies and startups. Experience in the full life cycle of the software development process, including up-front requirements analysis, risk mitigation, early proof-of-concept, multi-pass prototype, implementation, testing, and maintenance.

Austin McCool, Chief Operating Officer

For nearly a decade, Austin McCool was an internationally touring musician and band manager for the Nashville-based rock band Future Thieves. During this period, he honed the creativity, resilience, and adaptability required for a dynamic startup environment. McCool joined Sure Med Compliance in 2021, where he incorporated his knowledge of software processes, web development, and systems integration and began playing a pivotal role in the company’s operations. This role led to his rapid advancement to Director of Operations and most recently his promotion to Chief Operating Officer.
